faire la cuisine Gets Fired Up!
faire la cuisine has been delighting clients with its mobile wood-fired pizza oven since 2007. Imported by Forno Bravo from Italy, the oven design was inspired by the ovens unearthed at the ruins of Pompeii.
Out of the 700-degree oven come pizzas with smoky, crisp crusts. And a seasonal selection of toppings. Some our most requested pies are Margherita, fresh tomato slices,the best mozzarella, and fresh basil from the garden. Stoplight arrives late in the harvest season because those german green tomatoes are late to ripen. Maize begins as soon a the first ears of corn show up in the farmers market, add sliced tomatoes, onion, pepper -jack cheese and fresh herbs. For clients less adventures, we also offer the traditional 4-cheese and pepperoni.
Susan has shared her knowledge of this age old cooking method as a guest instructor. In October 2010 she co-taught a cooking class for The Fire Within a mobile wood-fired oven conference in Boulder, Colorado. Peter Reinhart faculty member of Johnson and Wales University and author of American Pie, taught bread baking in the ovens while Susan instructed participants in unexpected ways to use the wood oven.
Hosting The Wood Fired Oven
The wood fired oven is a welcome centerpiece to any graduation party, rehearsal dinner or wedding reception. Sometimes we can even entice the bride and groom to toss a few pies as well.
